This is with reference to statement of Chairman, Central Board of Revenue (Business Recorder, August 24, 2004) claiming tax-GDP ratio at 11.3%. In fact, according to the Economic Survey of Pakistan 2004, tax-to-GDP ratio has further deteriorated 9.6% for the financial year 2002-2003 and 9.3% for the financial year 2003-2004.
